After learning about Clean Water Act, it is important to acknowledge members of the general public’s thoughts. Some questions you can ask to encourage a positive conversation are:

  1. What do you think about water quality in Florida?
  2. Do you think water quality is getting worse or getting better? Why?
  3. Have you experienced any water quality issues? What was the issue(s)?
  4. Why do you think the Clean Water Act is an important player in protecting Florida’s water resources?
  5. How can the Clean Water Act improve water quality in Florida?
  6. Do you take care of your home landscape/lawn? If so, how will the Clean Water Act impact your landscaping care?
  7. What do you believe are the largest issues facing you, as you strive to comply with the Clean Water Act as a homeowner who needs to take care of your landscape/lawn?
  8. Do you think strengthening water quality control through monitoring TMDLs, which is part of the requirements of the Clean Water Act, will assist with consumer confidence in agricultural products? Why?
