Angie B. LindseyGlenn MorrisThe Deepwater Horizon oil spill resulted in a loss of eleven lives and substantial environmental and economic losses for residents along the Gulf Coast region. As the fifth anniversary approaches on April 20, 2015, many communities continue to feel the aftermaths of the spill. Join this session to learn about the Healthy Gulf, Healthy Communities project, an University of Florida led project that has been studying the physiological, psychological and sociological effects in these communities since 2011.  Dr. Glenn Morris will discuss the project and the work that has been done with the impacted communities. In addition, he will discuss findings and the potential they have on bettering preparing communities for other disasters.
