After learning about TMDLs, it is important to acknowledge members of the general public’s thoughts.

Some questions you can ask to encourage a positive conversation are:

  1. What do you think about water quality in Florida?
  2. Do you think water quality is getting worse or getting better? Why?
  3. Have you experienced any water quality issues? What was the issue(s)?
  4. Why do you think TMDLs are important for protecting water resources?
  5. What do you believe TMDLs can do to improve water quality in Florida?
  6. Do you take care of your home landscape/lawn? If so, how will TMDLs impact your landscaping care?
  7. What do you believe are the largest issues facing you, as you strive to comply with TMDLs as a homeowner who needs to take care of your landscape/lawn?
  8. If you have a landscape/lawn to take care of, how do you plan to deal with the impacts TMDLs have or will have on your landscaping care?
  9. Do you think strengthening water quality control through monitoring TMDLs will make you more confident with local agricultural products? Why?
