After learning about the Clean Water Act, it is important to engage producers and business owners in conversations. Some questions you can ask to encourage a positive conversation are:

  1. What do you think about water quality in Florida?
  2. Do you think water quality is getting worse or getting better? Why?
  3. Have you experienced any water quality issues? What was the issue(s)?
  4. Why do you think Clean Water Act is important to protect water resources?
  5. How can the Clean Water Act improve water quality in Florida?
  6. What do you believe are the largest issues facing you, as you strive to comply with the Clean Water Act?
  7. How will the Clean Water Act impact your business?
  8. How do you plan to deal with the impacts the Clean Water Act has or will have on your business?
  9. Do you think strengthening water quality control through monitoring TMDLs, which is part of the requirements of the Clean Water Act, will assist with consumer confidence in agricultural products? Why?
