Hallie ODell

Department of Agricultural Education and Communication, Undergraduate student

Hallie Odell has the unique opportunity to work as a media assistant with the UF/IFAS Center for Public Issues Education as an undergraduate student and has been with the center for the past two months.

Odell is studying agricultural education and communication and will be graduating in May of 2018.

As an undergraduate assistant with the PIE Center, Odell has been assisting with projects relating to the Southeastern Coastal Center for Agricultural Health and Safety website and social media.

“My favorite aspect of working with the PIE Center is being able to exercise the skills that I am currently learning as a student at the University of Florida,” Odell said. “This opportunity allows me to use the Internet as a platform to get the general public back in touch with agriculture.”

The PIE Center is equipping Odell with experiences that allow her to excel as a student and as an agricultural communicator.

Following graduation from the University of Florida, Odell wants to continue to communicate awareness about agricultural issues.

In her spare time, Odell is learning how to code. She plans to later utilize these skills to help her grow as a communicator.
