Florida receives new residents every year in the form of invasive exotic (nonnative) species, which threaten the native communities of plants and animals. The favorable climate of Florida hosts more invasive species than any other state. This has major impacts on the economy, in addition to the environmental havoc they cause. The November Easy as PIE webinar will host Dr. Ricky Telg and Dr. Alexa Lamm as they present PIE Center public perception data and opportunities for Extension educators to contribute to combating invasive species. This webinar will give the results of the 2016 PIE Center invasive/endangered species survey and show how the public perceives and understands the issue of invasive species. Potential communication strategies Extension educators should use for invasive species programming will also be discussed. We hope you are able to join us!
